Jasmin Allenspach

I am an award-winning Swiss writer, educator, and theoretical physicist living in London. Speaking seven languages, I write in English despite my mother tongue being Swiss German.Most recently, I have been nominated for the Forward Prizes 2026, the most influential awards for new poetry in the UK, and won the Platinum Poetry Prize at the Creative Future Writers’ Award 2025. I am a Young Trustee of the London Library, where I was formerly an Emerging Writer 2022/23.I am a Barbican Young Poet 2025 and a Genesis Emerging Writer shortlistee 2023. Scholarships I have been awarded include Faber Academy and Tin House (US), amongst others. My writing has been performed at Southbank Centre, Barbican Centre, Audible Studios, and on BBC Radio.With over a decade’s experience in education and community building, I currently run the international writing talk series Peerclass and am launching the UK’s first collective for exophonic writers and researchers in 2026.I graduated top of my year with an MSc Physics from ETH Zurich, part of which I spent at Oxford. My research seeks to unite the largest and smallest scales in our universe, not unlike my writing.When not dissecting sentences or equations, I train in classical ballet.
